The Abbey of Our Lady of New Clairvaux is a Trappist Cistercian Monastery located in Vina, California. The historic property was once known as the Great Vina Ranch, owned by Leland Stanford. The monastery is home to the reassembled medieval Chapter House from Óvila, Spain, the stones of which were at one time owned by William Randolf Hearst. In advance of the celebration of 90th birthday of Fr. Thomas X. Davis, the forerunner of the Sacred Stones project and Abbot Emeritus, we were tasked with telling the story of his life and the construction of the church.
In a series of interviews with the Cistercians, Vina community members, and supporters of the Abbey, a style video was produced and shown at the birthday celebration event held at the Sutter Club in Sacramento. Watershed Media has also provided promotional materials for the ongoing construction at the church, the annual Blessing of the Grapes event, and docent-led tours of the property.
